Search for Mia

Resident Evil 7: Chapter 1 Mia follows Ethan to an isolated Louisiana house after he receives a message from his missing wife. The investigation starts outside, where the yard and the neglected building provide the first places to search. Once inside, closed doors, dark rooms and scattered objects make the house a puzzle as well as a threatening setting.

How to Play

Use the mouse to examine and interact with the scene. Start in the yard and look around the steps and accessible objects for anything useful. Follow the investigation into the house, checking cupboards, drawers and other details for clues about Mia.

Keep track of the places you cannot yet enter. A note can give context to an object, while a newly found item can make an earlier obstacle worth revisiting. When the scene changes, inspect the surroundings again instead of assuming you have already found everything relevant.

Investigation Tips

  • Read notes where you find them. Their details are easier to connect to nearby objects while the room is still on screen.
  • Search systematically: inspect the obvious entrances first, then look at furniture and smaller objects before moving to another area.
  • Remember the location of a locked door or other unresolved obstacle. When you obtain something useful, compare it with those known problems.
  • Let the story guide your next destination. The aim is to follow Ethan's search, not to interact with every object at random.

The chapter's tension comes from moving deeper into an unfamiliar house while piecing together what brought Mia there.
