Survive in the Dark
SCP 096 Modest is a first-person horror survival game set in a dark complex with SCP-096. Your task is to remain alive while navigating the facility and avoiding the creature. Darkness makes ordinary decisions—where to turn, when to move and where to take cover—more difficult.
How to Play
Use WASD to move and the mouse to look around. E is used for interactions, and F controls the flashlight. Explore accessible areas carefully, identify the way through each room and pay attention to signs that the creature is nearby. Use cover to create distance when an encounter interrupts your search.
Keep the next exit in mind as you enter a room. If you have to retreat, a known doorway is more useful than a passage you have not yet inspected. When the immediate danger has passed, return to the route and continue toward the survival objective shown in the game.
Tips for Exploring the Facility
- Use the flashlight to read your surroundings and recognise doors or obstacles in the dark. Do not focus so closely on one object that you lose track of the route behind you.
- Listen while moving. A change in the sounds around you is a reason to pause and reassess the next passage.
- Notice places that offer cover before you need them. During a pursuit, knowing where the room connects can save valuable time.
- After a failed attempt, remember the location where you lost your route and approach that section more deliberately on the next run.
The tension comes from maintaining a sense of direction while a threat shares the same confined space.
